1. Numerical Verification of Mobile Thermal Energy Storage Performance
Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för industriell teknik och management (ITM)Sammanfattning : The energy demand worldwide is constantly increasing and energy efficient technologies are considered a crucial factor in order to restrain this trend. Mobile thermal energy storage (M-TES) using phase change material (PCM) has a great potential in storing heat waste as energy and transporting it from the heat source to end user. LÄS MER
2. Oxidation of Graphite and Metallurgical Coke : A Numerical Study with an Experimental Approach
Master-uppsats, KTH/MaterialvetenskapSammanfattning : At the royal institute of technology (KTH) in the department of applied process metallurgy, a novel modelling approach has been developed which allows a dynamic coupling between the commercial thermodynamic software Thermo-Calc and the commercial computational fluid dynamic (CFD) software Ansys Fluent, only referred to as Fluent in the study. The dynamic coupling approach is used to provide numerical CFD-models with thermodynamic data for the thermo-physical properties and for the fluid-fluid chemical reactions occurring in metallurgical processes. 3. Secondary Fluids Impact on Ice Rink Refrigeration System Performance
Master-uppsats, KTH/Tillämpad termodynamik och kylteknikSammanfattning : Sweden has 350 ice rinks in operation which annually use approximately 1000 MWh each. Therefrigeration system usually accounts for about 43 % of the total energy consumption which is the largestshare of the major energy systems. LÄS MER
4. Investigation on Thermal Conductivity, Viscosity and Stability of Nanofluids
Master-uppsats, KTH/Tillämpad termodynamik och kylteknikSammanfattning : In this thesis, two important thermo-physical properties of nanofluids: thermal conductivity and viscosity together with shelf stability of them are investigated. Nanofluids are defined as colloidal suspension of solid particles with the size of lower than 100 nanometer. LÄS MER
5. Thermo-Physical Properties of Mould Flux Slags for Continuous Casting of Steel
Master-uppsats, KTH/MaterialvetenskapSammanfattning : Due to the high efficiency and productivity of continuous casting process, this method has been the most employed process to produce steel in past decades. The need to improve and optimize the finished product made it essential to gain more knowledge about the process, types of defects that may occur and the reasons for them. LÄS MER
