  1. 1. Implementation, Validation, and Evaluation of 1D-3D CFD Co-simulation for Cooling System of Internal Combustion Engine

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Fordonsdynamik

    Författare :Amirali Kerachian; [2020]
    Nyckelord :CFD; 1D-3D Co-simulation; Cooling Systems; Turbulence Modeling; CFD; 1D-3D Co-simulering; kylsystem; turbulensmodellering;

    Sammanfattning : Internal combustion engines, electric motors and batteries generate a significant amount of heat during operation that needs to be extracted by cooling systems. A cooling system is designed and installed to extract the generated heat and maintain the system temperature in an optimal range. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Fluid field analysis on a flexible combustor for a hybrid Solar / Brayton system : A numerical study

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för industriell teknik och management (ITM)

    Författare :PAUL JACQUEMARD; [2020]
    Nyckelord :CFD; MGT; LPP Combustor; Impinging hole; CFD; MGT; LPP-brännare; slaghålsvägg;

    Sammanfattning : Recent improvements to concentrating solar dish systems lead to further focus on hybridization systems for small-scale power generation applications. Variability of the solar load creates new requirements for combustion systems. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Analysis of the flow of secondary steam through a reheater using 3D CFD

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Mekanik

    Författare :Ida Lindell; [2019]
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : In this study 3D CFD was used to study the mass flow distribution in a reheater in a nuclear power plant. The aim was to see if 3D-modeling provide different results than traditionally used 1D-analysis. Models with detailed geometry were created for a section of the tube package in the reheater to obtain pressure drop coefficients. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Source Term Estimation in the Atmospheric Boundary Layer : Using the adjoint of the Reynolds Averaged Scalar Transport equation

    Master-uppsats, Umeå universitet/Institutionen för fysik

    Författare :Brännvall Tobias; [2015]
    Nyckelord :CFD; Source; Source term; STE; RANS; k epsilon; Adjoint; Adjoint equation; Reynolds transport equation; transport equation; adjoint of transport equation; Adjoint duality;

    Sammanfattning : This work evaluates whether the branch of Reynolds Averaging in Computational Fluid Dynamics can be used to, based on real field measurements, find the source of the measured gas in question. The method to do this is via the adjoint to the Reynolds Averaged Scalar Transport equation, explained and derived herein. LÄS MER
