  1. 1. Using a GIS to enable an economic, land use and energy output comparison between small wind powered turbines and large-scale wind farms: the case of Oslo, Norway.

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografi och ekosystemvetenskap

    Författare :Colin Potter; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Geography; GIS; Wind power; Renewable energy sources; urban wind energy; urban areas; planning; vertical axis wind turbines; comparative studies; urban integrated energy systems; Oslo; Roan; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : Responding to an identified knowledge gap, the study aims to determine if smaller wind turbines located on top of existing urban buildings are more resource efficient (land utilization and economically) than large scale wind farms. To answer this question, using a GIS, the resource efficiency of the Roan wind farm in Northern Norway was compared to a theoretical modeled installation of small-scale wind turbines on top of buildings within a 2km radius study zone in central Oslo. 2. 2. Sveriges förnyelsebara energilandskap : en kartläggning av den svenska solenergins och vindkraftens markanspråk

    Master-uppsats, SLU/Dept. of Landscape Architecture, Planning and Management (from 130101)

    Författare :Anna-Klara Norlin; [2022]
    Nyckelord :energilandskap; hållbar landskapsplanering; solenergi; vindkraft; solceller; vindkraftverk; markanspråk; marktäckedata; GIS; Geografiska informationssystem; ekosystemtjänster;

    Sammanfattning : Det globala klimatet håller på att förändras, och den globala energiproduktionen står inför en oundviklig och omfattande omställning bort från fossila bränslen. I denna omställning kommer elektrifiering och en ökad produktion från förnyelsebara energikällor att utgöra centrala åtgärder. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Rooftop plant factories: effects on energy use for heating, cooling and electric lighting

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Avdelningen för Energi och byggnadsdesign; Lunds universitet/Institutionen för arkitektur och byggd miljö

    Författare :Yizhi Zhang; [2021]
    Nyckelord :Urban and peri-urban agriculture and forestry UPAF ; urban farming UF ; rooftop greenhouse RTG ; lighting; daylighting; energy conservation; roof; greenhouse; food; cities.; Technology and Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : Within the next thirty years, two thirds of the human population will live in a city. This growing urban population requires a major shift in the way we produce and distribute food, since industrial agriculture practices contribute to climate change, biodiversity losses, pollution of waterways, soil degradation, etc. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Development of evaluation tools as an approach to pre-design district energy systems : Qualitative modeling and performance simulation using OpenModelica

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Energiteknik

    Författare :Ghazal Faramarzi; Malin Torestam; [2020]
    Nyckelord :Heat pump; Thermal energy storage; District heating; Integrated energy system; District energy system; Heating demand; OpenModelica; Planning tool; Qualitative model; CO2 emissions; Techno-economic performance; Swedish energy market; Värmepump; Värmelagring; Fjärrvärme; Integrerade energisystem; Energisystem i stadsdelar; Värmebehov; OpenModelica; Planeringsverktyg; Kvalitativ modell; CO2 utsläpp; tekno-ekonomisk prestanda; Svensk energimarknad;

    Sammanfattning : Cities and districts contribute to a large fraction of the total energy consumption in Sweden. The residential- and service sector accounted for almost 40% of the total energy consumption in 2018. The increasing urbanization also puts more importance on the energy supply, distribution and consumption in these areas. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Energy Systems Simulation on an Urban District-Level

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för industriell teknik och management (ITM)

    Författare :Dado Hadziomerovic; [2019]
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : The development of urban-scale energy systems modelling on a district-level is presently the target of many research organisations because of the growing interest in assessing the effect of energy efficiency throughout the full energy chain in urban district environments. This Master thesis includes an overview on energy use with aggregation at building- and a geographically restricted residential area level. LÄS MER
