  1. 1. Crack growth based FEM with embedded discontinuities

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Hållfasthetslära

    Författare :David Lindblom; [2021]
    Nyckelord :PUFEM; Fracture Mechanics; J2-plasticity; FEAP; Strong discontinuity; Variational formulation; XFEM; PUFEM; Brottmekanik; J2-plasticitet; FEAP; Diskontinuitet; variationskalkyl;

    Sammanfattning : In recent years there have been a major developments in the computational mechanics community when it comes to modelling of fracture mechanics. There are now several well established numerical methods that are implemented in commercial programs such as: Phase Field Modelling, Enhanced Assumed Strain (EAS), Smeared Crack Methods, Extended Finite Element Method (XFEM) and Partition of Unity Finite Element Method (PUFEM). 2. 2. Real-world low-light image enhancement using Variational Autoencoders

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Matematik LTH

    Författare :Olle Eriksson; [2020]
    Nyckelord :machine learning; deep learning; U-Net; VAE; variational autoencoder; image processing; low-light vision; Mathematics and Statistics;

    Sammanfattning : Low-light image enhancement is a hard task mainly due to the amount of noise and little information stored in the dark image. In this thesis project we develop a method for low-light image enhancement based on a Conditional Variational Autoencoder (CVAE). The CVAE is a deep learning model trained with a specific objective function (ELBO). LÄS MER

  3. 3. When Computers Can Discuss Shape Properties with Each Other

    Master-uppsats, Blekinge Tekniska Högskola/Sektionen för ingenjörsvetenskap

    Författare :Xin Yu Yang; [2011]
    Nyckelord :shape descriptors; variational interpolation; implicit function;

    Sammanfattning : A novel idea for perception of object surfaces is presented by so called "shape descriptors". Such idea is as an abstract level to represent the object surface by some real numbers. It has the similar idea like as the Fourier coefficients of mapping a function f(x) to frequency domain by Fourier transform. LÄS MER
