    Sammanfattning : Contemporary English as a foreign language (EFL) classrooms in upper secondary schools in Sweden make frequent use of receptive media such as movies and television to facilitate language learning. The more interactive medium of video games is seldom used for the same purpose, despite previous research indicating that the added layer of interactivity can bring benefits such as improvements to vocabulary, written production and reading comprehension.     Sammanfattning : This study examines the relationship between music and image in two of Hayao Miyazaki's films. Based on literature studies on film music and narrativity, together with an analysis of how the music is used in the films Howl's Moving Castle and Kiki's Delivery Service, the study shows how the music affects the narrative.     Sammanfattning : This study investigates the perceptual effect of ceiling painting on the viewer in relation to spatiality. Three case studies have been conducted of ceiling paintings by Johan Sylvius from 1690, Karl XI's gallery at Drottningholm Palace; Karl Axel Pehrson Transfigurata from 1978, at Thielska Gallery; and by Malin Gabriella Nordin from 2021, at the restaurant Ricordi, all in Stockholm Sweden.     Sammanfattning : This thesis draws on queer theory, media representation, intersectionality and news values to conduct a combined queerfeminist visual and critical discourse analysis examining how representation of same-sex attraction and queer relationships in British teen television—and the media’s reaction to them—has changed between 1994 and 2019.  The queerfeminist visual analysis compares two scenes featuring same-sex attraction between male teenagers in two TV shows: Byker Grove (1989-2006), which featured a chaste but angrily rejected kiss in 1994 and Sex Education (2019-2023), which featured an unseen but implicitly enjoyed blow job in 2019.
