   Sammanfattning : Previous studies in Beseku Ilala peasant association, South Central Ethiopia, have disclosed decreasing soil fertility in the area, a consequence of non-existent crop rotation practices, where a nitrogen-fixing legume, the faba bean (Vicia faba) is of particular interest.
