  1. 21. Incorporating GIS in urban planning : Quantifying accessibility to sociotopic user values for use in urban planning and citizen dialogue – a case study of Årstafältet, Stockholm.

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Geoinformatik

    Författare :Anna Nordlöv; [2018]
    Nyckelord :GIS; Urban planning; Urban design; Citizen dialogue; Bivariate maps; Web-GIS; Network distance; Sociotope;

    Sammanfattning : There exists a debate regarding where to build new housing in increasingly denser cities today. Often it is the green spaces that must be sacrificed which lead to conflicts among decision makers and citizens. Although, some sources claim (Byrne et al. LÄS MER

  2. 22. An open source web GIS tool for analysis and visualization of elephant GPS telemetry data, alongside environmental and anthropogenic variables

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografi och ekosystemvetenskap

    Författare :Patrick Kabatha; [2018]
    Nyckelord :geography; GIS; web GIS; web mapping; open source; wildlife; elephant; ecology; time series; GPS telemetry; Biology and Life Sciences; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : The movement and distribution of ecologically important herbivores such as elephants are of great significance to conservation biologist seeking to understand the fundamental triggers that influence their mobility and the extent to which these parameters affect how they utilize their immediate and surrounding resources. The recent advancement in animal tracking technology coupled with the availability of moderate to high-resolution satellite data, permits scientists to develop elephant cognitive maps of their adjacent environment, thus offering novel opportunities for research in the fields of wildlife movement ecology and the wider conservation biology. 3. 23. Developing Data Extraction and Dynamic Data Visualization (Styling) Modules for Web GIS Risk Assessment System (WGRAS)

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografi och ekosystemvetenskap

    Författare :Daniel Assefa; [2018]
    Nyckelord :Geographical Information Systems; GIS; Disaster Risk Management; web GIS; Volunteered Geographic Information VGI ; Map Visualization and styling; Geo-spatial data extraction; OpenStreetMap OSM ; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : Interactive web-GIS tools play an important role in determining disaster risk assessment which ultimately result in reduction of unexpected damages, cost and saves millions of lives. Disaster management practitioners largely benefited information at their disposal about location where possible incidents are eminent, anticipate the impact and project possible outcomes to help mitigate and organize proper response. 4. 24. Multicriteria Site Suitability for Algal Biofuel Production Facilities

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografi och ekosystemvetenskap

    Författare :Brendan O'Neill; [2018]
    Nyckelord :geography; GIS; advanced biofuels; algae; Florida; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : The use of algae as a feedstock for the production of advanced biofuels has tremendous potential because of its short growth cycle, high productivity, lack of competition for agricultural lands, ability to use a variety of water sources and recycle CO2 and nutrient emissions, and compatibility with existing fuels chains with minimum process changes. However, to make significant contributions to biofuel targets, optimal locations must be identified to ensure production facilities are economically viable. LÄS MER

  5. 25. Transformation and linking of authoritative multi-scale geodata for the Semantic Web : a case study of Swedish national building data sets

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografi och ekosystemvetenskap

    Författare :Eiður Eiðsson; [2018]
    Nyckelord :GIS; RDF; linked geodata; INSPIRE application schemas; data transformation; cartographic scale; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : Semantic Web technology has attracted much interest for its ability to integrate and deliver information from different sources, and increasingly, geodata are being published as triple data according to the graph structure laid out in the Resource Description Framework (RDF). Although the Semantic Web already contains a large volume of geotagged information, there is still a lack of suitable geometric representations for proper visualization thereof. LÄS MER
