1. Feasibility of reintroduction of European Bison (Bison bonasus) to Sweden with focus on traffic accidents
Master-uppsats, SLU/Southern Swedish Forest Research CentreSammanfattning : The historical occurrence of European bison (Bison bonasus) in Sweden during the early Holocene emphasizes the ecological significance for a potential reintroduction. The European bison, the largest herbivore on the European continent, is a keystone species with a significant influence on ecosystem dynamics. LÄS MER
3. Effect of conventional bridges on deer-vehicle accidents
Master-uppsats, SLU/Dept. of EcologySammanfattning : This study evaluated whether the density and design of conventional bridges affected the frequency of reported deer-vehicle collisions along a given road or railroad section. I used official accident data from roads for 2008-2010 and from railways for 2001-2010, data on bridges and infrastructure together with digital topographic information, and estimates of regional abundances of moose (Alces alces) and roe deer (Capreolus capreolus) to develop generalized linear models of the parameters influencing the occurrence of deer-vehicle collisions. 4. Externa kostnader för viltolyckor
Magister-uppsats, SLU/Dept. of EcologySammanfattning : The objective of this paper is to estimate monetary and non-monetary costs for the huntercaused by deer-vehicle collisions in Sweden. These costs include losses in hunting value as wellas time and money efforts related to the handling of wildlife casualties. LÄS MER
