  1. 1. Integrating Local Knowledge into the Spatial Analysis of Wind Power: The case study of Northern Tzoumerka, Greece

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografi och ekosystemvetenskap

    Författare :Athanasios Senteles; [2024]
    Nyckelord :Geography; Geographical Information Systems; MCDA; wind energy; local knowledge; Greece; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : Increasing demand for incorporating renewable energy projects into the national energy mix, is associated with international and European efforts to tackle the negative effects of climate change and strengthen energy resilience. Greece, as a member country of the European Union, has acknowledged that necessity, by implementing a national program aiming to significantly reduce Green House Gas Emissions and upscale Renewable Energy Sources (RES) project development in upcoming years. 2. 2. The Impact of an Offshore Wind Farm on a Power Grid

    Kandidat-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Författare :Arvid Söderberg; Tim Possekel; [2023]
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Due to increasing power demands and growing importance of sustainability, more and morewind power is being built and connected to existing power systems. While wind power isboth renewable and cost-effective, it is important to note that due to its variable nature, itcan negatively impact the stability of a power system. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Major Component Replacement on Floating Wind Turbines

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för industriell teknik och management (ITM)

    Författare :Kilian Galle; [2023]
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Among the challenges that floating offshore wind (FOW) energy faces today, operation and maintenanc ecosts, and especially major component replacements (MCR), are an important cost reduction lever. MCRs are defined as any failure on a wind turbine requiring the change of an entire main component of the turbine, such as a gearbox, generator, blade, nacelle, etc. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Using a GIS to enable an economic, land use and energy output comparison between small wind powered turbines and large-scale wind farms: the case of Oslo, Norway.

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografi och ekosystemvetenskap

    Författare :Colin Potter; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Geography; GIS; Wind power; Renewable energy sources; urban wind energy; urban areas; planning; vertical axis wind turbines; comparative studies; urban integrated energy systems; Oslo; Roan; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : Responding to an identified knowledge gap, the study aims to determine if smaller wind turbines located on top of existing urban buildings are more resource efficient (land utilization and economically) than large scale wind farms. To answer this question, using a GIS, the resource efficiency of the Roan wind farm in Northern Norway was compared to a theoretical modeled installation of small-scale wind turbines on top of buildings within a 2km radius study zone in central Oslo. 5. 5. Developing a Cost Model For Combined Offshore Farms : The Advantages of Co-Located Wind and Wave Energy

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för industriell teknik och management (ITM)

    Författare :Eva Blech; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Wave Energy; Floating Offshore Wind; Co-located Wind-Wave Farm; Levelized Cost of Energy; Multi-Source Offshore Farm; Vågenergi; flytande havsbaserad vindkraft; samlokaliserad vind- och vågpark; nivellerad energikostnad; havsbaserad park med flera källor;

    Sammanfattning : Previous research has displayed that multi-source farms provide an opportunity to reduce the cost of energy and improve the energy output quality. This thesis assesses the cost competitiveness of co-located wind-wave farms, specifically floating offshore wind (FLOW) turbines and CorPower’s wave energy converters (WEC). LÄS MER
