  1. 1. Bekämpningsmedelsläckage från grundvatten till ytvatten - Undersökning av ett avrinningsområde i södra Skåne

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Miljövetenskaplig utbildning

    Författare :Ellen Jönsson; [2017]
    Nyckelord :legacy pesticides; pesticide fate; pesticide contamination; groundwater - surface water interaction; pesticide monitoring; groundwater contamination; stream water contamination; stream pollution; groundwater pollution; groundwater outflow.; Agriculture and Food Sciences; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : From a small stream draining an agricultural catchment area in south Sweden, a temporal analysis of the occurrence of legacy pesticides was carried out and correlated with contemporary groundwater levelling, precipitation and flow rate of the stream, in order to evaluate groundwater outflow as an entry route for pesticides in the stream. Based on continuous measurement data from two periods of 12 respectively 16 months, in total eight legacy pesticides and three metabolites of legacy pesticides, were detected from early spring to late autumn, when runoff water to the stream was low and groundwater constituted the main water source of the stream. 2. 2. Effects of Persistent Organic Pollutants and Their Mixtures on Biotransformation and Oxidative Stress in Zebrafish Embryo

    Kandidat-uppsats, Örebro universitet/Institutionen för naturvetenskap och teknik

    Författare :Hyon Sun Jeong; [2016]
    Nyckelord :Zebrafish; Developmental toxicity; Mixture toxicity; Oxidative stress;

    Sammanfattning : Persistent organic pollutants (POPs) cause significant effects on organisms due to their resistance to environmental degradation and specific toxic responses. Although POPs toxicities were linked to oxidative stress in the previous studies, there are few POPs studies that link them with oxidative stress in zebrafish during development. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Assay of nitrification potentials in sewage sludge : development and evaluation of method, and nitrification potentials in sewage sludge before and after application to soil

    Master-uppsats, SLU/Dept. of Microbiology

    Författare :Caroline Jöngren; [2016]
    Nyckelord :Sewage sludge; nitrification potentials; PAO; sanitations treatment; ammonium; storage treatments; nitrous oxide; Nitobacteriacea; Nitrosomona;

    Sammanfattning : Sewage sludge (SS) contains valuable plant nutrients applicable to soil as fertilizer. Application to arable land is though controversial as SS can contain contains such as human pathogens, heavy metals and xenobiotics. LÄS MER

  4. 4. MDR1-mutationen hos hundar

    Kandidat-uppsats, SLU/Dept. of Biomedical Sciences and Veterinary Public Health

    Författare :Johanna Olsson; [2015]
    Nyckelord :P-glykoprotein; MDR1; mutation; hund; makrocykliska laktoner; P-glycoprotein; dog; macrocyclic lactones;

    Sammanfattning : P-glykoprotein (P-gp) är en effluxtransportör som ursprungligen uppmärksammades för sin kapacitet att skydda tumörceller från flertalet läkemedel. Det har sedan visat sig att P-gp även finns i andra vävnader, som tarm, njurtubuli, lever samt i hjärnans kapillära endotelceller. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Thyroid Endocrine Disruption of Propylparaben Assessed Using an Optimized Individual Xenopus tropicalis Metamorphosing Tadpole Exposure System

    Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för biologisk grundutbildning

    Författare :Johannes Pohl; [2015]
    Nyckelord :Xenopus; Thyroid hormones; Endocrine disruption; Amphibian metamorphosis assay; Propylparaben; Hormonstörande ämnen; Propylparaben; Xenopus; Sköldkörtelhormoner;

    Sammanfattning : The anuran Xenopus tropicalis tadpole is an attractive model animal in toxicological evaluation of suspected thyroid disrupting xenobiotics. Due to its reliance of a functioning hypothalamic-pituitary-thyroid (HPT) axis for normal metamorphosis, effects on the HPT axis produces apical endpoints, which are easy to measure. LÄS MER
