Hellre än bra: Kroppen och rummet - individens upplevelse av karaokesituationen

Detta är en Kandidat-uppsats från Lunds universitet/Avdelningen för etnologi

Sammanfattning: This thesis is an ethnological study of the experience of participating in karaoke nights at a particular karaoke bar in a larger city in the south of Sweden. It aims to examine the experienced atmosphere as it is spoken of as a feeling of joy and of being welcomed inside the karaoke bar. From understanding the intentions of the singers, the directions bodies take while in the audience and the movement between being on stage and of stage, my aim is to understand if it is something in particular that is happening, which makes the karaoke participants speak so well of the atmosphere in this particular karaoke bar. Through theory of phenomenology by Maurice Merleau-Ponty and Sara Ahmed, as well as Bourdieus theory of the struggle within the field, this thesis is also an attempt to shed light on the spoken experience of joy within a group of bodies experiencing in a field that is said to be democratic and open for everyone to participate in, in relation to the discriminatory properties within the individual.
