"Att jobba med det jag tycker är kul" - En kvalitativ studie om arbetstrivsel och arbetsglädje hos fyra sjukhuskuratorer
Sammanfattning: The aim of this study is about work motivation, finding joy in work and how social worker at hospitals perceive this. The essay begins with a look at the history of work motivation and work joy. The study also brings up previous research that has been done within the subject. The study then brings forth relevant theories that present a deeper insight on work motivation and work joy. The theories presented are Abraham Maslow’s hierarchy of needs (1987), Jonas Höögs hierarchy of needs (1985), Aaron Antonovsky’s Sense of Coherence (1991) as well as Frederick Herzberg’s two-factor theory (1993). Methods are later used when finding the information needed to do the study. The method chosen was qualitative interviews with four social workers at hospitals. After presenting the results of my work while connecting my results with the chosen theories, I conduct interviews with four different social workers that work at hospitals. This is done to get an in-depth picture on what they define as factors that play a part in their work motivation and joy of work. The results of the study were that work motivation and joy of work are heavily connected to each other, and many factors play a part in their absence or presence. Things such as stability at work, task space, discretion, self-improvement and duties influence a workers motivation and joy at work.
