Under utrikespolitikens kappa. En tematisk analys av feministisk utrikespolitik i icke-statliga biståndsorganisationer
Sammanfattning: This study aims to investigate how the Swedish feminist foreign policy is understood by NGOs in development aid work who receive government funding, and how one can understand this through a feminist postcolonial and postmodern perspective. To gain a better insight and understanding of this, the focus has been on the close links between different notions within feminist postcolonial and feminist postmodernist theoretical frameworks and development aid practice. These notions constitute a central point of the thematic analysis along with five interviews with different NGOs. The interviewed NGOs are all dedicated to development and receive funding from the Swedish government. The results of the study concludes that responsibility constitute a central part of the NGOs understanding of and approach to the feminist foreign policy. The feminist foreign policy has been successful in bringing the NGOs more legitimacy in their feminist work, although the study indicates that the NGOs had a feminist focus prior to the feminist foreign policy. Subsequently, it also demonstrates how a feminist postcolonial and feminist postmodern perspective is important in understanding the development aid discourse.
