Sammanfattning: In Sweden there are about 385,000 children and adolescents living with one or two parents who abuse alcohol. All over the country there is several organizations and operations that work to provide these children with a place where they can speak out, regain trust in adults and grow as people. But due to the fact that the target audience lives in an exposed situation, it is difficult to reach out with information about these operations to them. This has the operation “Huven” in Eskilstuna experienced. Therefore, they want a material that aims to reach the target audience in the best possible way and provide them with information that is easy to understand. There are few studies on how to write to reach children and adolescents in vulnerable environments, and even fewer studies on how to use rhetorical and narrative techniques to succeed. Therefore, this study aims at testing rhetorical and narrative techniques on the target audience to find out if it can and what could be used to create a material that can successfully reach the target audience. The result of this research shows that four storytechnical features in combination with pathos and its three emotional motives can be used in Huven's material to create an understanding of the operations of an exposed target group. The four narrative techniques that can be used are sociolectic, message, redundancy and unambiguous tendency, and the emotional motives are essence, subject and stimuli.
