Sammanfattning: The purpose of this study was to, with basis of self-efficacy theory and individual characteristics such as gender and work experience examine the experience of seizure of power/takeover in a job interview. A quantitative study that included a survey was made to investigate this phenomenon. Data acquisition from a total of 52 respondents who all have or are now working as recruiters with interviewing as a part of their job description, was described and presented in a Chi-square test. The study showed no significant results that pointed towards that interviewers of a particular sex, amount of experience or level of self-efficacy were more often challenged by the interviewee. Also, there were no significant results whether a interviewee of a particular sex or age challenge the interviewer more often. The result that the study could show is that the phenomenon regarding interviewers being challenged clearly exists, as well as that interviewers feel they to a greater extent would be challenged by male interviewees over female. Since the male respondents most often challenge the interviewer, the theoretical part of the study linked gender communication styles as a possible cause. The survey respondents have a consistent high level of self-efficacy, which problematized the comparison whether recruiters with low self-efficacy to a greater extent would experience themselves as being challenged by the interviewee.
