Hindens rev i tid och rum - att använda sig av museala samlingar i landskapsvård

Detta är en Kandidat-uppsats från Göteborgs universitet/Institutionen för kulturvård

Sammanfattning: This thesis is created with the conscious aim of answering to whether it’s possible to utilize museum collections in landscape conservation. After the passing of the biologist Bengt M. P. Larsson a substantial quantity of unpublished research material was uncovered. Later made as donation to the research archive at the Lake Vänern museum in Lidköping it became accessible to contemporarily research. The raw data of the research material used in this thesis stretches from 1958 - 1969 and consists of information about the vegetational conditions of the nature reserve Hindens rev. Sited west of Lidköping, Hindens rev protrudes like a five kilometer long spear from mainland bulging outward into Lake Vänern. This point of land continues under water and is a terminal moraine, a part of the Fennoscandian Ice-Marginal Zone. The main method in the thesis consists of an archive study where the aim is to congregate information about the vegetational conditions. The information from the archive study brought forth two comparative methods, a repeat inventory and a repeat photography which was tested empiric in field. Searching for explanations as to why vegetational conditions have changed. Literature of the regulation of Lake Vänern, nature reserve as conserving method and the historic land use changes of Hindens rev is further investigated. The ambition is to discuss the adequateness of instating landscape conservation as a management method in the nature reserve. It is hoped that the thesis could provide a basis for future research. That the thesis may contribute to an awareness of the use of unconventional methods.
