Faktorer inom personcentrerad vård som är av betydelse för patienter
Sammanfattning: Background: Person-centered care is about putting the patient in focus, and a central part is the patients own participation. To have a good implementation of person-centered care good leadership and cooperation between professionals is a must, and an understanding of the impact a person-centered approach can have. A good communication and shown dedication to patient participation was importaint. The benefits of person-centered care, from a social perspective is that it can lead to reduced healthcare costs and increased overall satisfaction. Aim: The aim of this study was to investigate the factors patients experience as important when it comes to person-centered care. Method: A general literature study was chosen, in which qualitative and quantitative articles were examined in order to gain a deeper understanding of the area. The articles were reviewed by SBU’s and Friberg’s review template, and where the results are summarized and presented in a table. Results: There are several aspects that contribute to a good experience of person-centered care, the main themes found were; information to the patient, decision making and care adapted to the patient. Obtaining correct and sufficient information were by the patients considered to be crucial for the care to be perceived as good, this was later the foundation to the patient’s ability to participate in a shared decision regarding their own care later on. The uses of person-centered care resulted in the patients feeling and considering their care as individually adapted. Conclusion: Person-centered care is an important part of healthcare in the terms of quality of care, where the patient’s perspective and opinion primarily focus on information to the patient, decision making and adapting the care to the patient.
