Sammanfattning: Background: Municipal elderly care is facing several challenges to cope with tomorrow's care and care initiatives. Implementing and using welfare technology, with a focus on the elderly persons increasing their independence and security while improving the employees' work environment, is seen as a possible way to succeed in maintaining quality in elderly care in the future. Aim: The aim of this work was to describe the employees' experiences of implementation and the use of welfare technology in elderly care in the Nordic countries, and which factors are important to consider when implementing new technology. Method: Ten articles were analyzed and processed through a systematic literature review with a qualitative approach. Results: The results revealed three themes that described the employees' experiences of implementation and the use of welfare technology. These were the elderly person's needs and qualifications, the employees' needs and qualifications and the employees' changed assignments. Conclusion: The conclusion is that municipal elderly care has a general poor preparedness for changes that need to be made based on the implementation and use of welfare technology, both in terms of knowledge and skills but also in terms of digital infrastructure. It is important that organizations invest in training to make employees confident and comfortable with the technology so that they can in turn make the elderly person feel secure.
