Sammanfattning: The purpose of this study was to examine and describe how available the public transportation system in Skåne is for persons that are depending on a wheelchair. The study focus on Skånetrafiken, the provider of local bus and train transports. The basis of the study was seven interviews. The theoretical basis was Goffmans theory of stigma and Nirjes principle of normality. Stigma and normality was a big part of the results and also earlier research that have been done. The results show that being able to interact in society on the same terms as everyone else without a disability is important. The results of the study showed that Skånetrafiken is actively working with making the means of transport available for persons in wheelchairs. One main problem that exists today is how wheelchairs get on and off the train or bus, another problem is how Skånetrafikens staff act towards persons in wheelchairs.
