Vem tar hand om våldet? En kvalitativ undersökning av kvinnojoursrörelsen hbtq-inkludering
Sammanfattning: The aim of this thesis is to study the development of the women shelters movement in Sweden, connected to the inclusion of LGBTQ people in their understanding of violence in intimate relationships. Historically the movement is based on a radical feminist notion where categories like sex are at the core, which is still affecting the work being done today. As method for the thesis, I have conducted semi structured interviews with representatives from various local women shelters, geographically distributed, and divided almost equally between the two national association, Unizon and Roks. I use a theoretical framework that connects intersectional and queer perspectives to analyze the women´s shelters movement, which allows for a more complex understanding of violence. I find that the binary approach to sex is central to understanding violence, and that factors like geographical location, financial situation and cis-heteronormative understandings plays a key part in how the continued inclusion of LGBTQ people can proceed within the movement.
