Arbete och Bostad

Detta är en Master-uppsats från Lunds universitet/Institutionen för arkitektur och byggd miljö

Sammanfattning: What is the relationship between structures of power and the spaces we inhabit? I will propose a description of how the relationship between work and housing has changed since the 19th century, and what relationships of power between worker and employer have been created as a result. I will use four case studies to highlight the changing city through the development of traditional capitalism into a neoliberal project. The mid-19th century utopian-socialist project Familistère de Guise. The development of suburban environments and urban sprawl. The situation in London related to the Right to Buy scheme. The subsidized housing projects in New York City. My main theory will be the work on disciplinary societies by Michel Foucault and work on the societies of control, by Gilles Deleuze. This work is presented as a pamphlet of about 64 pages. It is written in Swedish. With special thanks to Musée de Familistère de Guise, Mattias Kärrholm and Gunnar Sandin.
