NARRATIVET OM EU I DEN SVENSKA PARTIPOLITIKEN - Hur svenska politiska partier uttrycker sig om EU

Detta är en Kandidat-uppsats från Göteborgs universitet/Statsvetenskapliga institutionen

Sammanfattning: The purpose of this thesis was to research how Swedish political parties (the Liberals, the Left Party and the Sweden Democrats) express themselves towards the European Union between the years 2014-2019 through a narrative perspective. Did these political parties express Eurosceptic or Europhilic sympathies are what these political parties deem as good and evil through an EU perspective and how the EU's role changed during this period. The theories about Euroscepticism and europhiles will represent whether these parties are sceptical or open towards the EU. The Sociology of evil will be used to see how evil and good are constructed in a political context. And lastly, Europeanization is about how the EU ends being more influential/involved in national party politics. These theories will form the basis of the narrative analysis of political party documents from all political parties. The results and the analysis indicate that Sweden Democrats and the Left party have shifted away from Euroscepticism. At the same time, the Liberals still are Europhiles, and the EU is either constructed as being good and evil. However, what all the political parties have in common is that they are now associating more national issues as EU issues.
