Sammanfattning: During the Covid-19-pandemic choirs have suffered a lot, and around the world choirs have had to cancel and reorganize their activities. The purpose of this study is to investigate what measures have been taken by choirs, what rehearsal methods have been used and how choir conductors and singers have developed during the Covid-19-pandemic. The study has been performed through a survey to both choir conductors and singers, as well as an interview study with four choir conductors as informants. The literature chapter presents earlier studies of choir and Covid-19, choir pedagogy and acoustical conditions for choirs. The result shows that much has changed in how choir rehearsals are done during the Covid-19-pandemic compared to before. The most used rehearsal methods have been digital rehearsals, singing with greater distance and in smaller groups. Normal rehearsals have also been replaced with singing lessons, music theory lessons and recordings. Due to the choirs not being able to see each other as much as before the choirs have not developed as groups, although the choir singers have had an individual development. The choir leaders have developed through their way of planning and being flexible in their approach to what their job as a choir conductor involves. The choirs in the study have also had to revalue their goals and their view of the purpose of choir activity.
