Kvinnors våld mot kvinnor. En jämförande studie av könsmaktsanalysen och våld i lesbiska parrelationer.

Sammanfattning: Abstract Fokus för denna uppsats är våld i lesbiska parrelationer och hur man teoretiskt kan konceptualisera detta våld. Mitt övergripande syfte har varit att öka förståelsen för denna form av våld och därmed bidra till ett relativt outvecklat forskningsfält. Ett ytterligare syfte har varit att undersöka om den könsmaktsanalys som haft stor betydelse för tolkningen och förståelsen av mäns våld mot kvinnor i heterosexuella relationer även kan förklara våldet i en lesbisk parrelation. Fokus för min analys har dels varit om och i så fall på vilket sätt kön är en faktor som kan förklara det lesbiska relationsvåldet, dels om en förståelse av våldet inom en könsbaserad teori kan innebära en viss problematik. Jag har även undersökt andra faktorer som heterosexism och homofobi och dess betydelse för våldets uppkomst och former samt mer individrelaterade förklaringsmodeller. Den slutsats jag kunnat komma fram till som ett resultat av min teoretiska analys är att det lesbiska relationsvåldet inte uteslutande kan förstås eller konceptualiseras inom en könsmaktsanalys utan att analysen måste kompletteras med en analys av homofobins och heterosexismens påverkan på lesbiska som grupp och således även på det våld som utövas i dessa relationer. Jag anser även att en renodlat strukturell analys på egen hand kan ha svårigheter med att förklara våldet vilket föranlett mig till att lyfta fram en kombinerad strukturell och individualpsykologisk modell för uppnåendet av en mer övergripande teoretisk ram inom vilken man kan förstå våld i lesbiska parrelationer. Abstract This essay focuses on violence in intimate lesbian relationships and how you theoretically can conceptualise this kind of violence. My overall purpose has been to increase the understanding for this type of violence and thereby contribute to a field of research that in many aspects is underdeveloped. An additional purpose has been to investigate if the gender based analysis, which has had great influence on the interpretation and understanding of men's violence against women in intimate heterosexual relationships, also, can explain the violence which occurs in lesbian intimate relationships. The focus for the analysis has been to examine whether gender is a factor that can explain the lesbian relationship violence and if so, how. I have also examined if an incorporation of the lesbian partnership violence into the gender-based theory can bring about problematic consequences for an adequate interpretation of this type of violence. I have also examined other factors such as heterosexism and homophobia and these factors relevance for the causes and effects of the violence along with theoretical models, which focuses more on individual factors. My conclusion based on my theoretical analysis is that violence in intimate lesbian relationships cannot exclusively be explained within the gender based analysis, but that the analysis must be complemented with an analysis of the impact of homophobia and heterosexism on lesbians as a group as well as the impact on the abuse which is perpetrated in the individual relationship. I have also come to the conclusion that an analysis, which is restricted to structural factors alone, cannot explain the violence, which leads me to put forward a combined structural and individual-psychological model of interpretation to achieve a comprehensive theoretical frame within which we can understand violence in intimate lesbian relationships.
