Nyckelord: Distansstudier;

Sammanfattning: Aim  The purpose of the study was to examine upper secondary students and their experiences of distance learning compared to classroom studies. Issues  • What external conditions do the students at the upper secondary school feel that there are distance learning and classroom studies in the subject of sports and health?  • How do external conditions affect the students’ opportunities to meet the knowledge required in the subject Physical education, according to the students themselves? Method  Quantitative study where the collection of data was done in the form of a web survey with only answer alternatives linked to the questions. The study involved 102 students from four different upper secondary school classes in grades 2 and 3 where the schools were located in the Stockholm region. Results  The most important result in this study, was the significant difference that the students find it more difficult to meet the requirements in Physical Education when participating in online education rather than traditional schooling. The results also pointed out that the students felt they had insufficient access to external conditions when being educated in Physical Education online compared to in school.   Conclusion  The results clearly show that students who participated in online education the spring semester of 2020 experienced that it was more difficult to meet the requirements in Physical Education than it was compared to onsite education. One explanation to this finding might be the lack of resources regarding external conditions.
