Sammanfattning: Andersson. J (2015). Morningness or Eveningness? Food-, sleep-, and physical activity habits among high school students in relation to Chronotype. Bachelor thesis in Public Health science. Department of work- and public Health science. Academy of health and Occupational Studies. University of Gävle, Sweden.   Aim: The aim of the study was to compare food-, sleep-, and physical activity habits among high school students in relation to morning- or evening type (Chronotype). Methods: In a cross-sectional study data were collected by use of a questionnaire comprising 24 questions concerning the participants´ food-, sleep-, and physical activity habits. The questionnaire was distributed to 77 students. A total of 77 (100%) individuals, 41 males and 36 females, participated in the study. Data were analyzed by descriptive statistics and comparative chi-square test. Results: Students were divided into two groups; morningtypes (n= 23) and evening types (n= 54). Morningness was associated with sufficient sleep and sleep of good quality during weekdays compared with eveningness. Morning types also tend to eat breakfast more often before school than evening types. Evening types showed a higher physical activity level. Conclusions: Chronotype was associated lifestyle among students in vocational secondary school year one. Early school start does not benefit adolescents that are evening types and it has a negative impact on sleep- and food habits.
