Att resa är att behöva kapital : En kvalitativ studie om att göra en klassresa

Detta är en Kandidat-uppsats från Södertörns högskola/Institutionen för samhällsvetenskaper

Sammanfattning: By using Bourdieu's theory on capitals, the essay examines whether, and if so, in what ways, upward class mobility can affect one’s lifestyle. To examine this, I work with qualitative semi-structured interviews. Five upwardly mobile men and women were interviewed about their experience of being upwardly mobile. The interviews covered themes such as being born into a working-class family and being upwardly mobile, the perception of the middle class and the working class, and how they live today in the new class belonging. Previous researches used are three dissertation studies by the sociologists Mats Trondman, Lena Sohl and Ulla-Britt Wennerström. My result shows that life in a small extent has been affected by the class mobility and that the upwardly class mobile often became limit to be who they are.
