Digitalization of Management Maturity Model M3 : A case study about a company’s maturity levelin respect of compliance management
Sammanfattning: The constant rise of stronger technical standards along with expectations for openness from stakeholders have left businesses in a vulnerable position that threatens their reputation and viability. There is a need for management standards in order for companies to have guidelines to follow and know how to work correctly.. Today, companies face challenges in knowing their maturity and need to become more proactive. For that reason, AFRY have created a Management Maturity Model M3.Th e model as originally developed to assess organization's ability to deal with issues within compliance and quality management, but has now developed into a model that can assess companies maturity level within various management standards and areas. The Management Maturity Model M3" has today no standardized work process, making it up to each consultant to decide what program they want to use. This project has aimed to digitalize, standardize and create a generic digital model for AFRY. To achieve the thesis goals the methodology started with data gathering through interviews, readings, a competitor analysis, and a program/tool testing. When the data had been gathered, the analytical method was decided on, so that the result could be measured and followed along with the work. The analytical method was decided to be using KPIs that could be compared and evaluated from the perspective of the current model and the newly created digitalized model. When the KPIs had been decided, the development of tools in the chosen program was done. Further, with the finished digitalized model in hand, a case study was performed at a company where the digitalized model was implemented. Lastly, the current model and the new digitalized model were evaluated and compared by experts who scored the KPIs for each of them. The main results showed that the performance had been positively affected by the digitalization. The case study demonstrated that the digitalized model was applicable on companies, and that the evaluation of the experts showed that all KPIs had increased. On the other hand, some functions could not be used in the program due to problems with the software and there is a need for future work to complete the whole model in the chosen program. An activity list has been handed over to AFRY to keep working with this project. To conclude, digitalization showed to have a positive effect on the Management Maturity Model M3. A future direction has been stated at the end of the report to further develop and complete the model.
