"Vi räddade en jäkla massa ungar” : en kvalitativ studie om hur chefers ledarskap påverkades av det ökade mottagandet av ensamkommande barn hösten 2015

Detta är en M1-uppsats från Stockholms universitet/Institutionen för socialt arbete - Socialhögskolan

Sammanfattning: The aim of this study was to examine how managerial leadership was influenced by the increased reception of unaccompanied children in autumn 2015; based on six qualitative interviews with managers of the receipt of social services. The interviews were analyzed using a hermeneutic approach where parts of the theory of Resilience and Human service organizations were used for interpretation. The Lex Sarah notifications autumn 2015, received at the Inspectorate of Health and Social Care (IVO) from the municipalities have been used as an indication of organizational crisis. The results show that regardless of whether the organization itself reported or not, the managers experienced the situation as a crisis. The managers showed two different leadership styles; operational or strategical. Operationally oriented managers tended to be more flexible and use strategies to protect staff and prioritized children’s urgent needs. These managers put emphasis on the importance of quickly adapting the organization to external circumstances. Strategically oriented managers emphasized the need to preserve the organization's stability/legitimacy, and the importance of providing resources to the organization.
