Var är kvinnorna i sportjournalistiken? : En diskursanalys om hur det svenska damlandslaget i fotboll gestaltas i tidningarna Smålandsposten och Expressen.

Sammanfattning: The aim of this bachelor thesis was to examine how sports journalism portrayed the Swedish National team in football during the world championship in football 2019 for women. The research questions examined were: How is the womenś national team portrayed during the 2019 World Cup in the newspapers Expressen and Smålandsposten? Is there a differens of how the newspapers Expressen and Smålandsposten portray the women and if so how?  I this bachelor I used Norman Faircloughs critical discourse analysis (CDA) to find reoccuring discourses in the description of the footballs players from the Swedish National team. The main result of the study is that female footballs players are not taken equally serious as the male footballs players are taken. The result of the study indicates that female football players may not be considered to be as equally importment as the male footballs players are. The articals contains several serious angles and portrays the female football players as unserious if you compare to the male footballs players. The coach to the womenś national team of football is included in all the articals in the study, although he only say a quote.  The study shows that women are priotized lower than men do in the analyzed newspaper articals. During the 2019 Womenś World Cup in football, they played the menś national football qualifiers for European Championship 2020, the articals about the menś national team is placed before the articals about the womenś national team in the newspaper.
