Sammanfattning: Business improvement frameworks are of high importance in today’scontinuously changing market as organizations strive to stay competitive.There are many different frameworks, with this thesis focusing on two popularones: Business Process Management (BPM) and Lean. The implementations ofthese two in industry will be analyzed in relation to their theoreticaldescriptions to see how they differ and why.A systematic literature review on implementation case studies together with afocus group interview with experts in the field have been conducted to gatherdata. The results of this study show that there are some common factorsregarding the frameworks BPM and Lean found in the industry cases that arealso highlighted by the experts and theory. For instance, importance of processownership, visualization and flow, right behavior and culture, abstraction levelsand domains. These factors should be considered and used as ground for otherorganizations that want to implement the frameworks but also for furtherresearch in academia.
