Vardagspolitik bland Kinesiska Migrantarbetare : en fallstudie av den kinesiska migrantarbetartidningen Jiemei Miyu (姐妹密语) (Vackra Ord bland Systrar)
Sammanfattning: In this thesis the author examines a group of Chinese migrant workers own views on their working and living conditions. The questions related to working and living conditions that the migrant workers particularly discuss by themselves, and this thesis relies on are work-related injuries, loneliness, collectivity and labour legislation. The migrant workers descriptions are collected from the migrant worker magazine Jiemei Miyu (姐妹密语) (Sweet Words among Sisters). With James C Scott´s theory about hidden and public transcript, the author distinguishes what migrant workers express in a closed group from what they express in the open society. The result shows that Jiemei Miyu creates a shared community where the migrant workers can formulate a political agenda. In this relatively closed community there can be found attitudes which are too sensitive to easily be expressed in the controlled official political arena, this is especially the case with questions relating to collectivity and the relation to authorities.
