Sammanfattning: The labor market is in a continuous development where agencies are compelled to take shape due to a globalized market where flexibility is highly requested. Temporary agencies have grown to play a decisive roll where leased staffing represents a large part of the manpower in Sweden today. Previous research has found that workers employed by a temporary work agency experience a lack of job security and job satisfaction compared to other forms of employment. The purpose of this study was to investigate if there is a connection between job insecurity and low work satisfaction for temporary workers. Furthermore the study also aimed to increase the understanding of the temporary workers satisfaction with working hours and how they perceived that they can affect the working schedule. An online survey was replied by 54 temporary workers from Sweden. The results were analysed with Pearsons’ correlations coefficient for the quantitative data, and a qualitative approach for analyzing the perceived autonomy. Results showed a strong negative correlation for job insecurity and work satisfaction. With a thematic content analysis the variable perceived control over working hours were examined, where employment flexibility is emphasized as important for job satisfaction.
