Inkluderande turism. Möjligheter i områden med potential
Sammanfattning: This study examines actors in tourism and their perceptions and experiences of the concept of inclusive tourism in socio-economically vulnerable areas in the global north. An inclusive tourism seeks answers to who is included in a tourism, with what conditions and on whose terms.Tourism and socio-economically vulnerable areas are two concepts that are far apart. This study aims to highlight the potential for tourism that exists in these areas. The survey is based on two questions: What do different actors’ perceptions and experiences of inclusive tourism look like? And; What obstacles and opportunities does the actor experience in his work for inclusive tourism in socio-economically vulnerable areas? The study begins with an overview of knowledge, after which an account of the theoretical framework follows. Then the abductive starting point and method for the empirical part is presented, which is based on ten interviews with several categories of tourism actors with different roles. The study concludes a discussion on the importance of two-way communication between residents and visitors and the importance of utilizing knowledge in a marginalized group. Getting a long-term perspective in their business without external support, as well as the different roles of tourism actors in inclusive tourism are aspects that are addressed in the concluding discussion. At the same time, a paradigm shift is underway with a new way of working that means a broader societal perspective that can be linked to inclusive tourism.
