Anpassning till ökad nederbörd i framtiden: kommunens och byggbranschens roll
Sammanfattning: Climate change is going to affect the Earth’s precipitation patterns leading to increased flood risk in Sweden. The main purpose of this study is to examine how municipalities and the building industry work with adaptation for increased precipitation in response to climate change. NCC, a construction and property developing company in Europe represents the building industry in this study. The methods used were a literature review and qualitative interviews with five municipalities and NCC. The municipality’s work with adaptation is project based and the knowledge of the area in question varies. The study highlights several problems and challenges concerning climate change adaptation. Storm water management, which is the focus area for this study, has been a low priority area in the past and the storm water systems are in need of maintenance to be able to withstand cloudbursts now and in the future. Climate change adaptation affects a lot of different actors and all of them need to work together to develop a resilient society. If measures are not taken now it will be more costly to do so in the future.
