Närståendes upplevelser av bemötande inom pediatrisk vård : En litteraturstudie

Sammanfattning: Background: Relatives have a central role in health care. This is highlighted by family-centered care where the collaboration between patient, relatives and healthcare professionals is fundamental. The approach from healthcare professionals is highlighted as a basic tool where concepts such as communication, cooperation and participation are important aspects. However, research shows a lack of participation in pediatrics and family-centered care needs to be given more space in healthcare. Relatives' experiences within pediatrics can clarify the importance of family-centered care and the role healthcare professionals have in its implementation.  Aim: The aim of this study was to explore relatives’ experiences within pediatric care. Method: This qualitative literature study includes 14 articles that focus on experiences from relatives regarding healthcare professionals approach within pediatric care. The compilation was performed with qualitative content analysis. Results: The analysis of the articles resulted in three categories with underlying subcategories which consisted of ´A personal approach´: Personal characteristics, Emotional and practical support; ´To participate in the care of the child´: Being involved, Sharing knowledge, Building a relationship; ´Adapted information and communication´: Approaching anxious relatives, The need for information. Conclusion: The results show that healthcare professionals can reduce relatives' worries and anxieties and increase their sense of satisfaction and trust in care. By approaching relatives on a personal level to create a partnership, where everyone's knowledge and needs are taken into account and where information and communication are adapted to the situation and the individual, relatives experience a sense of increased participation. These components increase the well-being of both relatives and the child.
