Det kriminella Värmland : En kvantitativ jämförelse mellan Karlstads stad och Värmlands häraders brottslighet under år 1881

Sammanfattning: This studies purpose is to analyse the difference in minor crimes in Värmland´s districts and in Karlstad city, the residential city of Värmland during the year 1881. More specifically during the time known as industrialization and urbanisation. This study will not only analyse the difference in volume but also what types of minor crimes that were committed both in the city and the rural parts of Värmland. The source material for this study consists of court records from this time, and more specifically at the end of each record there is a summary of all the minor crimes committed during the period of spring and autumn or winter. The purpose will be examined via a quantitative method and will be reported with graphs of each question. A part of the method is also to categorize the crimes into larger groups to make the result more manageable. The result shows both a difference in the quantity of minor crimes, where the city has about ten times more compared to rural Värmland, and there is also a difference in what types of minor crimes. In the city there is most parts of people who were drunk, and the rural parts had more issues with both people skipping their military service and people not appearing before the court.
