Hinder för sjuksköterskan inom omvårdnadsarbetet : Vid trycksårsprevention
Sammanfattning: Background: Nurses have the main responsibility of pressure ulcer prevention and should use appropriate measures to prevent suffering in patients. Pressure ulcers can occur as a healthcare-injury and are used globally in measuring the quality of care. Pressure ulcers are painful and affect the patient's quality of life and are costly to society. Aim: The aim of this literature review is to identify the barriers with pressure ulcer prevention from a nurse’s perspective. Method: A literature review including twelve original research articles, and their results comprised the data that was analysed with a qualitative content analysis. Result: One main theme and three subthemes were identified. The main theme was Perceived barriers in nursing care and the subthemes were: a) A lack of competence and division of responsibilities, b) Insufficient resources, c) A lack of documentation and communication. The results showed perceived obstacles that were linked to the nurse's work and involved a complex situation for pressure ulcer prevention. Conclusion: Nurses have the responsibility to prevent pressure ulcers but are lacking the resources, specific education and correct communication skills to completely prevent pressure ulcers.
