Brandteknisk Riskvärdering av COOP Forum Nyköping

Sammanfattning: This report is an analysis of the evacuation capabilities of COOP Forum Nyköping. COOP Forum is a 6800 square meter supermarket built in 1970. The building is fitted with a sprinkler system, but lacks an automatic detection system in the sales part of the building. Two likely scenarios were identified and then simulated in FDS 5. In case of a fire in the personnel department, the smoke quickly filled the second floor and blocked off the only available emergency exit. It is therefore recommended that a smoke-proof door is installed in the staff dining room, which shuts automatically in the event of a fire. In the sales department, critical conditions were not attained before all customers had evacuated safely. To increase the safety margins it is, however, recommended that a smoke detector system is installed in the sales area.
