Sammanfattning: The purpose of this study was to examine the effect that attractiveness have on judgment of individuals concerning qualities of warmth, competence and suitability for hiring. Also if these judgments vary depending on the judger received a warning or not, that physical attractiveness can affect judgment. A survey containing 16 applicants for a job as a programmer was created. Half of the applicants had an attractive picture and half had an unattractive picture. The survey was created in four versions where two versions included a warning that described the effect attractiveness have on judgments. Sixty participants completed the survey. Results show a strong significant main effect for attractiveness. Attractive people were judged to have higher qualities regarding warmth and competence and they were judged to be more suitable for hiring. There was no interaction effect between attractiveness and warning that means the warning did not affect the judgments. The attractiveness stereotype exists and misattribution is made on an implicit level under the influence of the halo effect.
