Abortfrågan i Polen - En kvalitativ diskursanalys av två tidskrifter under 2016 angående representationer av abortfrågan i Polen
Sammanfattning: The purpose of this thesis is to give a deeper understanding of how abortion is represented in Polish opinions magazines during 2016, which was a turbulent year concerning the debate. The method that will be used is a discourse analysis strongly inspired by Carol Bacchi’s method ”What’s The Problem Represented To Be?”, modified to fit the purpose. Through asking a series of questions concerning the representations in the material, the analysis will give an image of how abortion is represented from two points of view - the pro-life camp and the pro-choice camp. Previous research show a lot of compelling evidence that the almost total ban of abortions is in fact damaging to Polish women. Results show that the debate on abortion in Poland in comparison to post-communist Poland haven’t changed a lot in the way the problem and the subjects are represented. Analysis show that an alternative vocabulary is used by the pro-life camp, that women’s rights and sovereignty over their body isn’t as prominent as expected and it is an actual question wether the debate is a fight for women’s health and rights or if there’s an alternative political agenda.
