Abortfrågan i Polen - En kvalitativ diskursanalys av två tidskrifter under 2016 angående representationer av abortfrågan i Polen
Sammanfattning: The purpose of this thesis is to give a deeper understanding of how abortion is represented in Polish opinions magazines during 2016, whichwas a turbulent year concerning the debate. The method that will be usedis a discourse analysis strongly inspired by Carol Bacchi’s method ”What’s The Problem Represented To Be?”, modified to fit the purpose. Throughasking a series of questions concerning the representations in the material, the analysis will give an image of how abortion is represented from twopoints of view - the pro-life camp and the pro-choice camp. Previous research show a lot of compelling evidence that the almost total ban of abortions is in fact damaging to Polish women. Results show that thedebate on abortion in Poland in comparison to post-communist Poland haven’t changed a lot in the way the problem and the subjects are represented. Analysis show that an alternative vocabulary is used by the pro-life camp, that women’s rights and sovereignty over their body isn’t as prominent as expected and it is an actual question wether the debate is a fight for women’s health and rights or if there’s an alternative political agenda.
