Sammanfattning: Nordic Marine Sauna AB has, since 2005, designed, manufactured and sold floating saunas. The product are characterised by a well thought thru and appealing design and its high quality. The company is now intending to open a new business area by starting a subsidiary, Nordic Submarine Sauna AB, which will design submerged saunas. The expected customers are leisure and conference centres as well as customers that seek an experience out of the ordinary. Due to the products technical complexity a master thesis was adverted. The task was to do an investigation whether such a product is technically viable. The job involved research of existing products and constructions material as well as designing the product with CAD and FEM-programs. This resulted in two different concepts: One model with a fixed submerged sauna. The other one is an amphibious model where the sauna is lowered and raised in the water. The main part of the rapport is dedicated to the fixed submerged sauna and the amphibious model is described in a separate chapter. The remaining construction work is mainly on the amphibious model, while the fixed submerged model only has a few details left to solve. However, both concept need to be verified by thorough testing on a prototype. In conclusion the result of the thesis work is a finished concept of the fixed submerged model that fulfils the expectations of the commissioner concerning design and function. After finishing the investigation both concepts are considered to be fully viable.
