Disciplinering och normalisering av kvinnor i fängelse
Sammanfattning: This essay portrays the VINN-program, a motivational program for female prisoners in Sweden with the purpose to increase their ability to make choices with the aim of creating a better life-quality for them. The underlying ideological intent of the VINN- program is examined through discourse-analysis. The focus in the analysis is on how normalization and disciplination are used to shape a certain kind of individual. I analyze this through looking at how the problem is represented in the material. How a problem is described limits which solution is seen as suitable or even possible. Therefore my analysis targets the way the problem is represented in the material. My conclusion is that the problem for female prisoners is represented in a way that focuses only on solutions within the individual in a way which eliminates other possible ways to look at the problem. Also the representation reproduces a limited gender role for women.
