Sådd av perenner. En dokumentation av tre metoder på tre plantskolor

Sammanfattning: In recent years there has been a growing interest in documenting and doing research in the area of craftmanship, not only the products but also the work itself and the years of knowledge behind it. The institution of conservation at the University of Gothenburg and the Hantverkslaboratoriet (The laboratory of crafts) in Mariestad are constantly working towards new methods to document, process and present this, sometimes silent, knowledge. The program Gardening and Garden Design inspired the idea for this thesis with lectures held by knowledgeable propagators and visits to nurseries that still propagate parts of their selection: the sowing of perennials. During the visits at three nurseries the owners showed their methods and the procedure was documented with video and voice recording and then the method was tried by me, “learning by doing”. Analyzing the video and sound recordings gave the idea to try different kinds of instructions on how to sow perennial seeds, based upon the experiences of these three craftsmen. The instructions are divided into two parts; Preparation and The sowing. Preparation was easier to generalize so it is done as a common table describing it in four steps. The sowing was very different between the three gardeners so it is instead done as a flowchart depending on what container is used for sowing. A classic instruction with pictures is also done as a more accessible option.
