Sammanfattning: Bullying is a serious social problem that has increased among Swedish adolescents. Bullying victimization has a negative impact on adolescents life satisfaction and it’s therefore important to gain knowledge about factors that can have a positive impact on this relationship. The aim of this study was to investigate to what extent socio-emotional support from family, teachers and friends have a positive impact on experienced life satisfaction among adolescents who are victims of bullying in Sweden. A logistic regression analysis was used based on data from “Health Behaviour in School-aged Children (HBSC) 2013/14” where 365 adolescents who are victims of bullying were analyzed. The result showed that socio-emotional support from family had a positive impact on the experienced life satisfaction among Swedish adolescents who are victims of bullying. The socio-emotional support from teachers and friends did not have a significant impact. These findings highlight how family is a resource that helps adolescents who are victims of bullying to cope with the negative effects that bullying has on life satisfaction. The present study therefore contributes knowledge on how socio-emotional support from the family could be used as a concrete strategy in the school social work to support adolescents who are victims of bullying.
