Sammanfattning: The entire education system has changed through the increase of digitalisation and the school is no exception. With new technology there are opportunities to develop systems that could help students generate knowledge and increase their motivation in school by individualizing teaching. This qualitative study explores how gamification with the power of artificial intelligence (AI) could be used to motivate students and individualize learning to a higher degree. To answer these questions, six semi-structured interviews were conducted with teachers. The study shows that there is a need for individualization in the classroom where AI has good potential to provide all students with customized support based on their personal preferences and needs to achieve school requirements. However, to implement this in the future we see that further empirical research and evaluation of these systems is required.
