Sjuksköterskors upplevelser av att vårda patienter med COVID-19 : En litteraturöversikt
Sammanfattning: Background: Globally spreading epidemics are called pandemics. Pandemics can cause economic, social, demographic and political consequences. Today’s pandemic Covid-19 has caused over three million deaths worldwide and nurses care for patients who have contracted the virus. Aim: The aim of the study was to describe nurses experiences of caring for patients with Covid-19 during the current pandemic. Method: A literature review based on ten qualitative articles, analysis with a qualitative content analysis. Result: Three categories and seven subcategories were identified. From negative emotions to learning, with subcategories The nurses negative emotions and coping strategies and The positive impact of the pandemic on the profession. A changed workplace with subcategories Workload, Fear of infection and Protective equipment. Significance of support and the view of the nurse with subcategories Support and The view of the nursing profession. Conclusion: Nurses experiences can lead to stress, which can increase vulnerability. Vulnerability can lead to illness and risk impairing the nursing of patients. Research on previous pandemics show similarities to research of the pandemic Covid-19 which suggests that improvement can be made within the field. The authors propose increased education regarding pandemics and coping strategies for nurses.
