Flöjten – en förlängning av din kropp. En kvalitativ studie om kroppskännedom i tvärflöjtsundervisning

Sammanfattning: The purpose of this study is to investigate how and why flute teachers use body awareness in their teaching. I have built my study on literature on body awareness covering different techniques and methods. I describe the positions of Alexander technique, Feldenkrais, Dalcroze method and literature on French flute schools concerning body awareness in flute teaching. Using qualitative research I have carried out interviews with active flute teachers. In the interviews, I have focused on how they work with body awareness in their teaching and what they think of body awareness in different flute schools and in their own teacher education. In the results section their responses on how they work with body awareness are presented. In the discussion chapter I link the informants' responses with earlier research. The results show that body awareness has a big impact on the flute playing craft and musically, which I think is an important reason for raising the body awareness in music education.
