Hur man framgångsrikt leder ICT4D-projekt i utvecklingsländer för att främja digitalisering och ekonomisk tillväxt: En praktisk studie om intressenter, förväntningar och projektledning i tredje världen

Sammanfattning: Within International development, ICT and it’s benefits is a fairly new way of addressing the world’s social and economic issues. Even though a lot of actions has been made with ICT as a tool for development the success rate is still low. This study has two major purposes: Firstly, investigate the characteristics of expectations within ICT4D projects. Secondly, examine how different project management methods consolidate different stakeholders. In order to answer these questions, an empirical study was conducted, consisting of interviews with different organizations that were active within the ICT4D community. The participants were carefully chosen in favor of portraying a comprehensive picture of organizational differences and analyze how these differences affected the project outcomes. Previous studies have indicated that variables including, but not limited to, stakeholder alignment and expectation management have had a substantial impact on the acceptance of consumer products and have thus come to affect the design of the project management discipline. However, there is a lack of similar studies done within the context of ICT4D, a topic where social adaptability and engagement require a vastly different approach. Through the incorporation of design science, management methods and developmental theories this study aspires to shed some light on the complex nature of project management within ICT4D and hopefully, contribute with meaningful insight on its issues
