Se hela mig och mitt liv! En hermeneutisk undersökning om den enskildes servicemottagarens syn på upplevelsen av skam och stigmatisering

Sammanfattning: There is today a growing interest in psychological research to see how the feeling of shame affects individuals who are in vulnerable situation in our welfare society. In an attempt to shed light on how the individual servicerecipient experiences the treatment from government officials, a qualitative approach was adopted in this study. Using a hermeneutic approach, seven semi-structured interviews were conducted with service recipients who for more than six months have had an input from two different municipal organization in financial assistance and ubstance abuse care. The study showed results that is important as an authority how we use the room for maneuver that we have been allocated in different organizations. This is to help lower yhe feeling of shame that can lead to stigma and exclusion. The informants interviewed emphaized the importance of wanting to be seen as a whole person and not divided into different categories depending on whether they have financial assistance or have substance abuse.
